When we were there Bert's dynamo(alternator?) was bust,
so he drove until the battery was empty and then we swapped batteries.
I jump started the bike and recharged his battery while he flattened mine!
Absolutely no negative side effects.
Since then I have fitted a socket on my baby where I can attach either jump cables or a battery charger!!
It's connected directly to the battery.
That means I can jump start me or someone else without any effort.
